Leinart Hanging with the Honeys Causes a Stir
(Philadelphia, Pa) — This past week a real stink was made around the NFL about notorious “party boy” Matt Leinhart being photographed hanging out with some honeys with Nick Lachey. The photos caused Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt to talk with his quarterback about responsibility.
I am not one to jump all over a 24-year old for having a good time and I will not start now. I know that Leinhart is coming off another injury riddled season where “soul man” Kurt Warner filled in admirably in his absence. But to me the whole thing is a non-story, because who could blame a 24-year old millionaire for partying with hotties during the off-season.
I say if his partying sinks his play on the field to the level of former UCLA quarterback and Chicago Bears draft bust Cade McNown — rumored to have partied his way out of the NFL, by spending more time with playmates rather than his playbook – then Leinhart will have a serious problem.
For now let Leinhart enjoy himself and hopefully he has learned to keep his partying away from the cameras, especially the beer bongs. Maybe now he will spend more time with his young son (Cole), embrace his playbook, and try to hangout more with stoic Kurt Warner.
With all the hub-bub over these pictures imagine the fun that the paparazi would have had following around notorious New Jets playboy quarterback Joe Namath in the late ’60s and ’70s.
