The Green Packers, led by their attacking defense, flexed their muscles in a 21-16 nail-biter win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field
There would be no miracle comeback this time for the Eagles QB Michael Vick and the Miracles as Packers CB Tramon Williams interception of Vick with :44 seconds shut the door on the 2010 Birds. On the play, Vick in his own words said “He tried to do too much and got greedy” in trying an off-balance throw to rookie Riley Cooper in the endzone.
The Eagles had scratched and clawed their way back to having the game in Vick’s hands despite a myraid of errors. Philadelphia had missed tackles, two missed field goals by normally automatic David Akers, Penalties, Difficulty protecting Vick and much more. But they still had a chance and that was what now 12-seasons without a championship head coach Andy Reid focused on after the game.
In the end, the Birds will go back to the drawing board and get ready for the draft (offseason needs start with O-line help, a cover corner, a playmaking LB, and bigger DT). While the Packers now have a date with the beatable Atlanta Falcons.
Reid said after the game, “We all need to do a better job, starting with me.” I know that sounded familiar to Eagles fans. Well at least pitchers and catchers will be reporting soon to spring training for the City’s Powerhouse baseball team.
