2011 Philadelphia Eagles Notebook: December 20th Practice

Desperation will be in the air at Cowboys Stadium this Saturday as the Eagles (6-8) and Cowboys (6-8) renew their heated rivalry.  In preparation for the game, Taking It to the House’s Matt Lomabardo stopped by the Eagles’ Nova Care Complex on Tuesday December 20th and record this lockerroom interview footage

Philadelphia Eagles Wrap-up: Patriots Throttle Reid’s Reeling Squad

In a “Must Win” situation, the Philadelphia Eagles (4-7) came-up very small in a humiliating 38-20 home loss — have now lost 8 of their last 9 at the Linc — to the surging New England Patriots (8-3).  In the rather easy win, Tom Brady and company could do no wrong, while the Birds after an early lead couldn’t do anything right for the next 50 minutes of the game.  There were penalties, Patriots receivers running free, in-fighting, not enough touches for LeSean Mccoy, and most importantly several dropped passes — including two in the endzone by WR DeSean Jackson (benched).

Unfortunately for him, Taking It to the House Lead Writer Matt Lombardo was there to take in the ugly scene — Chants of “Reid Must Go” in the air — and he filed the following wrap-up report.

2011 Philadelphia Eagles Notebook: November 23rd Practice

The Eagles returned to practice on Wednesday November 23rd and now they are focused on their next “Must-Win” game against the New England Patriots in Week 12 of the 2011 NFL Season.  With both the Thanksgiving holiday and the Patriots approaching, Taking It to the House’s Lead Writer Matt Lombardo returned to the team’s NovaCare Complex to get the pulse of the Birds as they prepare to face Belichick, Brady, and the rest of the AFC East-leading squad

2011 Philadelphia Eagles Notebook: Team report post Week 11 win over Giants

One day after the Philadelphia Eagles’ hard-fought 17-10 Sunday Night Football win over the stunned New York Giants, Taking It to the House’s Lead Writer Matt Lombardo returned to the team’s NovaCare Complex . The improbable win, led by backup quarterback Vince Young, even gave Eagles fans a slight glimmer of playoff hopes in an otherwise disappointing season.

2011 Philadelphia Eagles Notebook: October 17 Practice

After the Philadelphia Eagles were able to get back on the winning side of the ledger, Taking It to the House’s Eagles Beat Reporter Matt Lomabardo saw a lot more smiling faces at the NovaCare Center on Monday October 17th.

To some beating the turnover-prone Washington Redskins and their “bad” quarterback Rex Grossman (4 INTs) in a close 20-13 win may not have been totally exciting.  But to Head Coach Andy Reid everything was all about getting a “W” for the first time in 4 weeks.  Reid was so ecstatic with his team’s effort that he gave his group off until October 24 during their bye week.

Cullen Jenkins dropped by to talk about where he thinks this team is after five weeks and what needs to be done not only during the bye week but in the second half. Jeremy Maclin talked about his mindset going into the bye week and Jason Avant talked about how he thinks his teammates responded to the players only meeting that he called last Wednesday.

Here are some of Matt’s footage from practice:

2011 Philadelphia Eagles Notebook: Kyle DeVan Talks O-Line

One of the Philadelphia Eagles bigger concerns entering the 2011 NFL Season was their offensive line.  But after a slow start in Week 1 versus the Rams, Howard Mudd’s group showed that they could indeed be a difference-maker.  In fact, the Birds rolled up 240 rushing yards and you could see that their “smallish” O-line was dedictating the pace of the game at the end of the victorious contest.

As usual Taking It to the House and 97.3 ESPN – Atlantic City, NJ Eagles Beat Reporter Matt Lombardo was on the scene in the Eagles’ Lockerroom to get this exclusive footage of starting OG Kyle DeVan talking O-line.
