Matt Lombardo Discusses Philly Media Scuffle on the Mike Missanelli Show

Let’s Get Ready, To Rumble!!!  Twitter Misunderstanding allegedly leads to the “Knock Down at NovaCare”

The Philadelphia region was “buzzing” on September 28th about sports, but to everyone’s surprise the big story wasn’t the Phillies heading into the playoffs or the Eagles trying to turn their fortunes around in their upcoming game against the Niners.  No…. the big story was an alleged dust-up between beat reporters Les Bowen (Daily News) and Jeff McClane (Inquirer) in the media room of the Philadelphia Eagles’s NovaCare complex.

Taking It to the House’s Matt Lomdardo was on the scene for the “scuffle” and was on 97.5 The Fanatic’s Mike Missanelli Show to give a blow-by-blow of the misunderstanding.

Also watch how Eagles QB Michael Vick’s lockerroom interview was interrupted by CB Asante Samuel yapping about the beat reporter “beat down”

Donovan McNabb Continues to Spark Debate In Philadelphia

Despite entering his second season away from Philadelphia, Donovan McNabb remains a lightning rod for conversation in the city of Brotherly Love.

On August 10th, Mike Missanelli; afternoon drive host on 97.5 FM ‘The Fanatic’ in Philadelphia, welcomed NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley in studio to co-host his show for four hours. During the unique and wildly entertaining program Missanelli and Barkley covered everything from an interview with Mike Tyson, to whether or not Andre Iguodala even wants to play for the Sixers, to exactly where does LeBron James belong in the conversation of all time greats.

Of course it was inevitable that McNabb became a topic of conversation. You can hear the clip here:

If you missed the interview, The Fanatic (WPEN-FM) is airing encore presentations of the show in its entirety on Friday from 2pm to 6pm during Missanelli’s typical shift, again Friday evening from 10pm to midnight and Saturday from 7pm to 11pm.

Newest Philadelphia Eagles LB Chris Wilson on 97.3 ESPN

High-energy defensive player Chris Wilson is the latest free agent to join the Eagles’ growing nest.

Though everyone has been constantly focusing on Eagles backup QB Vince Young’s “Dream Team” statement.  If the 2011 Eagles are going to end Philly’s over 50-year football championship drought they are going to need “glue” players too.

Recently the Eagles brought into the fold a player who is hoping to be the “Ike Reese” of the 2011 Birds, former Redskins LB/DE Chris Wilson (6’4, 247).  Any huge Eagles fan will tell you in 2004, Reese was a mainstay on all special teams and also a capable veteran defensive fill-in for the 2004 Super Bowl bound team.

Taking It to the House believes that Wilson can have the same impact for Andy Reid’s latest squad.  The Flint, Michigan native, who attended Northwood University, is an intense competitor that will do whatever it takes to win.  The 29-year old linebacker has a nose for the ball as shown by his 2 forced fumbles during the 2010 season.

Also look for the former CFL Grey Cup Champion — with 2006 BC Lions — to rush the passer as he can put his hand in the dirt too (6 career sacks including four in his NFL rookie season of 2007).

On his first official day as an Eagle, Wilson was gracious enough to talk to our own Matt Lombardo and his co-host Pat Gallen on 97.3 ESPN – Atlantic City, NJ

Newest Eagle DT Cullen Jenkins Talks on 97.3 ESPN

After winning a Super Bowl ring with the 2010 Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers, lunch-pail tough defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins has joined the Philadelphia Eagles in pursuit of another ring.

In  this interview with 97.3 ESPN – Atlantic City, Jenkins talks with our own Matt Lombardo about joining the Eagles already impressive roster and his expectations after hitting the field in practice at training camp in Bethlehem, PA.

During the 2010 NFL Season, Jenkins was an interior force for the Super Champion Packers as he compiled 7 sacks in 11 games while being an anchor in the middle of Dom Capers attacking defense.  Taking It to the House is sure Jenkins will have the same impact on a Birds’ defense that struggled at times in 2010 fortifying their interior line.
