Packers have the NFL’s Number One Rated Stadium

The NFL stadium rankings are in over at Sports Illustrated with not surprising the Green Packers’ Lambeau Field as the #1 venue in the NFL. The ratings measured stadiums by Affordability/Food, Tailgating, Team Quality, Atmosphere, and Accessibility. I know John Madden will agree as the “Frozen Tundra” weather and brat hotdog filled air have long held a special place in the hearts’ of NFL fans.  I think the mystique of Lambeau Field with everyone stems from its small-town roots, which are famously linked to the NFL’s early years where the renegade league played in small industrial towns.

One thing for the Stadium rankings to remember, unlike metropolitan stadiums like Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia or Ford Field in Detroit, Lambeau Field is practically the only thing in Green Bay, Wisconsin so of course accessibility and atmosphere will always rank high with this facility.  The last place (32) finisher was the St. Louis Rams’ Edward Jones Dome – maybe that is why there are rampant rumors that the Rams will be heading back to L.A soon.

Hopefully one day I will make the necessary pilgrimage to Lambeau Field as it is very close to Canton, Ohio (Pro Football Hall of Fame’s location) in terms of NFL deity.
